Athletics

Participation in team and individual sports not only promotes a feeling of family and belonging, but it allows students to develop themselves physically and emotionally. Students gain strength and skills and have the opportunity to develop leadership skills while learning the art of good sportsmanship and fair play.

Eligibility

DAMS sports teams are open to all seventh and eighth-grade students who maintain good grades, pass a yearly physical, and meet other PIAA eligibility requirements

Complete and sign a Comprehensive Initial Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) form, and return it to your coach prior to July 30. This private physician exam is effective for a full year and covers students in all the sports they participate in during the year. Athletes who suffer a serious injury or illness may need to be recertified by their physician.

Students who leave school ill may not participate in extracurricular activities, including practices that day. Students must arrive at school by 10:30 a.m. to participate in athletic events.
