Beyond the Bell
For students who need homework help, tutoring, or a quiet place to complete classwork, our Beyond the Bell program is a perfect fit. BTB is on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:45 p.m. to 4:55 p.m. Please contact your child’s guidance counselor to register. Students must have a transportation plan and parental permission before attending. An activity bus is available for students who live outside DuBois. It leaves the middle school at 5:15 p.m.
Fine Arts
We believe that fine and performing arts are important parts of the curriculum. Whether or not our students become professional artists or musicians, we’re confident that their exposure to the arts under our care opens their minds to the beauty our world has to offer—something that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Art
Our art classes explore art techniques in paper, pencil, paint, chalk pastels, and cloth canvas to create projects inspired by famous historic and modern artists. We also work with clay and modeling agents to create 3D pieces.
Music
Our music department is an integral part of DuBois Middle School. In chorus and band, we teach students to both appreciate and perform music. Learn more the in pages below:
Theatre
Our art and music departments come together each year to produce our annual middle school play. Students work on teams creating backdrops, learning lighting and stage techniques, planning costumes, and practicing their acting skills.
