A new program at DuBois Middle School that could literally save lives! Hope Squad aims to empower kids to talk to each other and identify signs someone is considering suicide. It teaches them to speak up when they know someone needs help. Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program where members are nominated by their classmates as trustworthy peers and trained by advisors. The program reduces youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention.
Greg Hudnall, the founder of Hope Squad, recently visited the middle school and had lunch with the DAMS Hope Squad members.
